At Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, we know that healing happens together. When you Walk or Donate to the Walk For Kids, you are allowing families the opportunity to recapture hope, enthusiasm, and love of life in a medically and psychologically safe environment created especially for them.
The Walk for Kids is a beloved community event supporting children and families who rely on the life-changing programs provided by Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times. Together, we create a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy.
After 10 years of being in and out of the hospital, this was a much needed family getaway where their kids felt they could just be themselves. Prior to this, Yoleita and Felipe had never felt comfortable with sending their children to Camp. But the program put them at ease as soon as they saw how staff and volunteers offered activities designed to accommodate all campers, whatever their abilities.
When asked what it means for their family to know that supporters will rally together to raise funds for the Walk for Kids, Yoleita shares “It’s important for families like ours who have a child in the hospital. We appreciate the support, when we went to Camp, our children were able to get outside. We welcomed Teresa back to nature and the reality around her after her time in the hospital. RMH and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times has been a family through the hardest times, the love we have received has been astonishing.”
