Why I Walk for Kids with Rotary Club of Ojai 

Our family will never forget the vital support we received through the Ronald McDonald House almost 25 years ago as our daughter Katee underwent a bone marrow transplant at Children's Hospital LA, with her twin sister Shannon being her donor.  

The brand new Ventura Ronald McDonald Family Room at Ventura County Medical Center is the only one of its kind in the nation at a public hospital, providing much of the same level of comfort, care and support we received at LA RM House. Through the most difficult of times, the hope and services provided to families is immeasurable.

This years Ventura Walk for Kids also honors Dr. Stuart Siegal, who we were so fortunate to have as our attending Physician while Katee underwent her extended treatments in Los Angeles all those years ago.

Dr. Stu was a founder of the Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times for children with cancer and was instrumental in the completion of this most special Family Room at VCMC. Dr. Stu now serves as Chair of the Health Care Foundation for Ventura County, what a gift to our local community!
