Welcome to the Team Martinez - My Walk for Kids Personal Page!
Thank you so much for visiting. I need your help for a truly great cause and I we've got just over a week to get us to goal!
Here's why I volunteer:
In June of 2020, my wife and I were blessed with twin toddler boys. But with many things in life, it was complicated. They were premature. One son was born just over 4 pounds, and the other son just over 5. Due to their size, they were going to need to spend time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). At the time, we didn't know how long they would be there. We were told it could be weeks or months. Every day, we went in and spent tough days. Every time the doctor walked in, our stomachs sank wondering what life-shattering news was coming our way. Getting there as the run rose, never missing a day, wondering how this would finally end was exhausting. Leaving every evening was the worst. After 10 days, the nightmare ended and we could take our sons home. We are the lucky ones and I'll never forget that time. It was after this experience, I learned how taxing it is to worry about your children, as well as how hard it must be for other families with more dire circumstances.
It's for these reasons I'm participating in the 2023 RMHC Walk for Kids to raise funds to support a “home-away-from-home” for critically ill children and their families. When a child is diagnosed, there is typically extensive hospital time needed and many families struggle getting to and from that hospital day after day, or paying for gas or lodging near the facility. I spend time and volunteer with the RMHC because they provide meals, housing, resources and support near hospitals for those families during possibly the most difficult time of their lives. As someone that briefly experienced this heartache, I feel like I have to help.
I hope that you will join me in raising funds and manpower to provide resources for the Ronald McDonald House to be able to help more families.
Healing Happens Together, any amount – grand or small – makes a difference!

A true THANK YOU for your support! Every dollar goes a long way.
Sincerely,
Juan
