Every year, the spring begins with The Ronald McDonald House Charities Walk for Kids. This major fundraising effort is critically important to the operation of our House and Camp Programs.
It is all about the families we serve. Families who need us at the most stressful time in a parent’s life, when their child is seriously ill and in need of urgent medical care.
As with you, your family and your friends, the last 12 months have created new challenges for us at The Ronald McDonald House. The challenges are not over. With so many COVID-19 related requirements, restrictions and changes, we need to be able to provide what our families need more than ever.
I am proud to serve as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and as Chairman of The Walk for Kids. My inspiration comes from the brave families, the volunteers, the staff and the people like you who support our Programs.
Our annual Walks for Kids will be held virtually this year on April 25. While we would all prefer to Walk together, health and safety are #1 for all of us at this time.
Our House Programs provide a “home-away from home” for families with seriously ill children. While the sick child is just across the street at the local Children’s Hospital, their family is close by. Our Houses provide an integral part of the healing process, a place of Wellness for the families, a place to rest, to make a meal, or share a conversation with another parent dealing with similar issues. Our Camp Program provides a place where children who require cancer- related medical care can go to experience the thrill of being a camper and perhaps, some normalcy.
Our organization serves families from So Cal, other states and countries around the world. Families with sick children all speak the same language, their “country” is the best hospital and best doctors. Below is a link to a short video, I hope it will touch you and motivate you to donate.
This year we have initiated a recurring gifts program. Perhaps a monthly gift would be more efficient for you. Please make as meaningful a donation as possible by using the link below.
Thank you for your interest
