It’s one of the moments in life you know it was meant to be. I started working at the Betty Ford Center and gravitated towards Sarah. Eavesdropping in on her, I heard her mention the city of Selma, which was next door to Kingsburg. My grandfather was editor of the newspaper in Kingsburg. Her grandfather was editor of the newspaper in Selma. There is no such thing as a coincidence.
Sarah lost her son to cancer, and I’m walking in honor of him. In honor of her courage. In honor that she suits up and shows up every day to help others. I have a lot to be grateful for, and getting to be friends with Sarah reinforces the grace of this sometimes troubled world.
Please help me in supporting this amazing charity, and making a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.
