My family began participating at the Walk for Kids in 2011, shortly after our son Jacob passed away in September 2010. Jacob was never diagnosed with a specific condition; however, he was unable to hold his head up, sit, crawl, stand, walk, eat, talk, and eventually, breathe.
Shortly after Jacob passed away, a friend mentioned the Walk for Kids to us and we quickly remembered our experience at the Ronald McDonald House in Los Angeles in early 2009. During the stress of multiple hospitalizations, the Ronald McDonald House was a tremendous source of comfort for our family and we immediately embraced the Walk for Kids as the cause we would support in memory of Jacob. Our prayer is that we can raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities so that they can help other families, in their time of need, the way that they helped us in the past.
I hope you can be part of helping our team meet our goal of raising $3,000 for 2020.
