Hello Fellow Trojans!
The 2021 Annual Ronald House Charities Virtual Walk for Kids Celebration will be held on April 25th. Professor Owens has shared with his classes his involvement in the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. This Charity provides housing and support to families of children with life-threatening illnesses while their children are in the hospital. Without the Ronald McDonald Houses, parents would face some very tough circumstances over an extended period to try and be close, all the while continuing to maintain their ongoing financial and family obligations back at home.
The Ronald McDonald House programs are in 368 locations in 64 countries around the world. Southern California has the largest chapter, with Houses in Bakersfield, Inland Empire, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Orange County and Pasadena, with nearly 200 rooms. It also operates two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms within hospitals. Finally, it operates a cost-free, medically-supervised year-around camp for children with cancer and their families, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, at Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains. The Walk is the key fund-raising event of the year for the Charities, and they hope to raise about $2 million out of their total annual budget of $14 million.
Registration is $25 per person. John will also sponsor each person who joins for $25 if you register to join the team (use the JOIN THE TEAM button, not the DONATE button). Remember to JOIN THE TEAM.
Thanks for thinking about the kids and Fight On!
