My Golden Ribbon
Hi everyone,
For those of you who don’t know me my name is Christopher Garcia but go by Chris. When I was only 2 1/2 years old I was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia and relapsed twice until I finally beat it at the age of 8. I have been in remission for about 15 years now and till this day I owe my strength to Camp Ronald McDonald For Good Times. This place has shown me the greatest weapon to have is kindness and the willingness to accept hope in any person. As soon as you set foot on these grounds it’s like a feeling of magic almost, where what you thought was impossible for a kid like me with cancer can be possible. So I walk to keep this place open and help the next generation of patients have the opportunity to feel the love, emotion, and magic this place has to offer.
