Hello! My name is Malia Cortez, and my younger brother is a cancer survivor. My brother was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was six years old, and our lives were changed in an instant. We were always going in and out of hospitals and to and from treatment, and the reality of cancer continued to haunt my family. Until we were introduced to Camp. Camp Ronald McDonald For Good Times was the collateral beauty of our situation, and it was the light we needed to lead us out of the dark. Since then, Camp has meant the world to us, and my siblings and I consider it our second home. I have joined Camp’s Teen Advisory Committee (TAC), which is a group that is part of the WOLP (teen campers) Team for this year’s Walk For Kids, to help give back to the community that gave me and my family so much love and support when we were alone in the dark. It would mean so much to me if you can help us reach our goal!
Thank you for your support!
