Hi everyone! 

I have had the privilege of volunteering with Camp Ronald McDonald for over 10 years and it has truly become a second home. Camp Ronald McDonald is an organization that provides cost free camp activities for children with cancer, their siblings and their families. While medicine is an essential part of a child's battle with cancer, equally if not more important is their psychological and emotional well being. That is where camp comes in. Camp provides medicine for the heart and soul. It gives children who are or have battled cancer a place outside of hospital walls where they can safely explore, grow, express themselves and simply just be kids! 

Over the years I have had the honor of watching so many of our amazing campers grow from shy toddlers to amazingly intelligent and caring young men and women. Each year they grow more confident, supportive and ready to lead and give back to others. The incredible part of camp is that no one is singled out or made to feel different, for many families this is the first time they really get to bond and interact with other kids and parents that have gone through the same struggles and challenges that they have and can truly provide that comfort and support. 

Watching a child sit in the corner too shy to interact with others on the first day of camp and then stand up on the campfire stage on closing night signing a song or putting on a skit with their entire cabin, huge smile and pride beaming on their face is what camp magic is all about. But in order to keep the magic of camp alive we need YOUR HELP! So please consider helping us in any way you can and spreading the word to others! Every dollar counts!
