Dear Friends,
In these unprecedented times, even though we still can’t BE together, we can JOIN together as a community virtually for the 2021 Walk for Kids. Please open your heart, donate now and participate with me in this Virtual Walk.
As a board member for Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, I’m privileged to support an organization that acts as a lifeline for children with cancer and their families. We know we can’t negate the impact of chemotherapy or reduce the pain that comes with treatment, but we feel that cancer should not take away the opportunity for a child to experience the fun, laughter and joy of life. Camp provides that opportunity and more! Offering children fighting cancer the chance to take a break from hospitals and find the opportunity to just be “ordinary kids”.
I want to share with you a camper story that exemplifies what Camp does: Taylor Long was diagnosed with myeloid leukemia when she was just a baby and has been attending Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times for more than ten years. She is astonished how much Camp has impacted her life and the new experiences she takes away every time she goes to Camp. “I always liked cabin night and unit nights, where the house cabin gets to spend time together as one group.” “Camp got me to think about how I could use the experiences and what I’ve learned to change the way I treat people back at home.” As Taylor prepares for her last year of camp, she’s excited to not only make great memories with her camp friends, but to also set a good example for younger campers to follow even once she’s graduated from Camp.
Please show your support and make a secure online donation by clicking the red Donate Now button to the right of the page. I also invite you to join my team and attend the virtual Walk for Kids on Sunday, April 5th!
Thank you so much! We hope to see you at the Walk for Kids!
