Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times has been a special part of my life since the day I drove up that mountain and stepped foot on Camp grounds. My son, DJ, was about 8 years old and my daughter, Isabelle was 11. We were attending “Work Weekend” where volunteers perform necessary maintenance. Little did I know that this day would change my life forever. Over the next 12 years, Camp became our family's passion. We continued to go up to Work Weekend, and DJ relished in the opportunity to build fences, dismantle and assemble the 'tent cabin,' and do whatever it took to make Camp even that much more special for our campers. Isabelle was chomping at the bit to turn 19 so she could become a Camp Counselor. That special day came, and now Isabelle has been up at Camp for the past 3 summers. Isabelle expressed it perfectly when she told me that "Camp restores her faith in humanity."
Over the past decade+, we have met the most incredible people. From the remarkable volunteers who put in countless hours to make Camp happen, to the Camp staff (a big shout out to Brian, Chad and Corey) who are the heart and soul of Camp. The most special part of all has been meeting our beautiful families. They are true inspirations and have taught me more than I could have ever imagined about resilience and the power of love and faith. I am deeply indebted to them for this!
I hope you will consider donating to my Walk team. I am co-Captain of the Kaiser Walk for Kids team with my dear friend, Dr. Bo Riewerts, a Pediatrician and an all-around very special human who has done so much for Camp (as well as his wife, Susan, who is a Rockstar!).
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
