Why We Walk

At the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California, we know that healing happens together. When you support the Walk For Kids, you are providing care, comfort, and support to families so that they may focus on what’s most important – healing their sick child. So know that when you walk, you are making moments like these possible.

Meet Angelica!

Angelica is a three year old girl from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico.  Angelica was born with a foot deformity.  She and her mother, Miriam came to Shriners Hospital for Children – Los Angeles for a second opinion.  At Shriners Hospitals for Children they created a prosthetic leg for Angelica.  She is doing physical therapy to learn how to use her prosthetic device.  Angelica is a patient at Shriners Hospital for Children – Los Angeles for about 4 months.

When Angelica is in between appointments she likes to color, study and have her mother read to her.  This is their first time staying at the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House.  Both Miriam and Angelica enjoy the peacefulness the House provides for them; they also like the backyard where Angelica is able to ride bikes, play ball or just run around.  Miriam feels very blessed to be able to not have to worry about certain things such as food, paying for lodging, etc.  She thanks all of the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House donors for providing her and her daughter with a “Home away from Home.”

Thank you for your support!
