Welcome to My Personal Page
Welcome to my personal for Team Jammin For Carlo!
In January 2005, at age four Carlo Santiago was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma, an aggressive solid-tumor cancer that forms in the nervous system outside the brain and left his young body riddled with tumors from his head to his knees. Though being dealt a very difficult hand, Carlo handled it like a true champ. He and his mother Toni and father Sam spent the next six years traveling back and forth from Hong Kong staying at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House so that Carlo could receive the best treatment at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. During this journey, he mastered the guitar, taught by his teacher James Valentine (guitarist from Maroon 5), the Walk For Kids, a letter to President Barack Obama. Carlo was a true inspiration to EVERYONE he encountered.
In 2008 I had the opportunity to meet Carlo. After spending the previous year dealing with my own cancer journey, I was hired to work at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House. I was in a predicament of not making my health insurance as an actor and needed to get a job to survive and have health insurance. The blessing in my own professional journey was the relationship I had with Toni Santiago, Carlo's mother. The strength of Toni and amazing spirit and strength of Carlo gave me inspiration. I watched Carlo run across the finish line of the Walk For Kids that year! Since moving on, to acting opportunities, it gives meet great fulfillment to be able to give back and keep Carlo's legacy alive within the Ronald McDonald House Charities! You can help by making a donation to the Jammin For Carlo Team. We have a goal of $5k, but we have a chance to be the number one team while raising money to help the many families who will need the same services as the Santiagos.
If you are interested in making a secure online donation to help me reach my fundraising goal, please click the red Donate Now button to the right of the page.
Thank you for your support! We hope to see you at the 2019 Walk for Kids!
