Help me Support Ronald McDonald House Charities

Dear Friends,

It is the time of year for The Ronald McDonald House Charities Walk for Kids.  The time of year for big fundraising.

I want to focus on the families we serve. Our program is about the families. Families who need us at the most stressful time in a parent’s life, when their child is seriously ill and in need of urgent medical care.

Every year brings new challenges for us at The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. Supporting our six Ronald McDonald Houses and Camp Ronald McDonald requires a LOT of Love, and a LOT of Fundraising.

I am proud to serve as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and as Chairman of The Walk for Kids. My inspiration comes from the brave families, the volunteers, the staff and the people like you who support our Programs.

Our annual Walks for Kids will be held this year on April 7 at multiple locations around Southern California including the LA Memorial Coliseum where I will attend with thousands of other supporters and walkers. This is our largest and most significant Annual Fundraiser with a goal of $2,500,000.

Our House Programs provide a “home-away-from-home” for families with seriously ill children. While the sick child is just across the street at the local Children’s Hospital, their family is close by. Our Houses provide an integral part of the healing process, a place of Wellness for the families, a place to rest, to make a meal, or share a conversation with another parent dealing with similar issues. Our Camp Program provides a place where children who require cancer- related medical care can go to experience the thrill of being a camper and perhaps, some normalcy.

Our organization serves families from So Cal, other states and countries around the world.  Families with sick children all speak the same language, their “country” is the best hospital and best doctors. Below is a link to a short video, I hope it will touch you and motivate you to donate.
