Welcome to Rochelle's Personal Story
Welcome to my personal 2019 Walk for Kids page! I hope that you will join me in raising money for seriously ill children and their families. Be sure to check back to view my progress, and please share this page so that I can reach my fundraising goal!
I lived in the Loma Linda RMH for 104 days, while Raelynn fought for her life in the NICU across the street at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. It only cost $10 a day. They provided food, laundry, a clean room, all personal amenities. Down to a toothbrush and toothpaste if you need it. Some families only pay $5 a day or pay nothing. My Brother, sister, and father-in-law paid for 2 months of my stay. A gift that I can never re-pay. It was worth more than the $600 that they paid. It was priceless to me. To sleep for 3-4 hours, sometimes zero, across the street from my baby, I can't explain the comfort it gave. It's not natural to leave your baby in a hospital and not stay with your baby. Being across the street, was the next best thing. I was at the hospital 16-22hrs a day. I would have stayed 24hrs but 2 hours a day, parents weren't allowed in the NICU due to shift change. Please help other families stay near their child(ren). Every penny you donate goes to the house. Thank you for your support and love, you have shown my sweet Little Miss Raelynn.
For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California has been dedicated to creating a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy through the operation of Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, a Community Grant Board and four scholarship programs. When you participate in the Walk for Kids, you are showing your support for families who are facing the fear and uncertainty of having a seriously ill child.
